About US

My name is Amy and I am excited to be the proud owner of CrossFit Underdog Union. My mission is to empower others, ignite inspiration, and always be a place where all people feel valued, encouraged and supported. I am passionate about CrossFit and a healthy lifestyle. It is my goal and hope to live a long, independant, and pain-free life. I want to share my passion and expertise to help others find their self confidence, inner strength and live long, pain-free lives also.

Who should do CrossFit? Everyone. From 8-80 years old, CrossFit will absolutely better your life inside and outside the gym.

Here is the best part, YOU DON’T NEED TO BE FIT to do CrossFit!

I tell people to look at it this way, do you have to be in the NBA to play basketball in your yard?  Of course not. Better yet, if you struggled in math would you wait to hire a tutor until you got better at math? No. CrossFit is no different. You start CrossFit to become fit regardless of your ability or current fitness level, period.

CrossFit is functional training.  We train the everyday movements of life. We deadlift to pick up items like groceries, our kids/grandkids or our Amazon boxes. We squat to get on and off of the toilet or up and down from a chair. We lunge to walk up and down stairs. We press to lift items over our head with ease.  We train grip strength so if we do start to fall, we can grip an object to stop us. And, if we do get sick or injured, having a strong body will help us heal faster.  Simply put, training functional movements make everyday activities easier and as an added bonus…we look and feel better in our own skin!

CUU is THE place for CrossFit training especially if you are new to the sport of fitness. It is for me and it is for those of you who have known struggles, continue to struggle or need a place where you are accepted and encouraged to move based on where you are in your journey. I can assure you that walking through the door is the hardest part.

MOTIVATION & PASSION

After decades of feeling lost and stuck behind a desk, I found my passion fitness and CrossFit. When I took the leap from Personal Trainer to CrossFit coach, it transformed my life in every way. With the support of my husband, family and friends, I am finally not “working” for a living but, living my passion. 

With CrossFit Underdog Union and CUU Nutrition, my vision is to provide the education, tools and support for people of all ages to build healthy bodies, prioritizing nutrition and creating a space where those who want it can identify, communicate, and achieve their goals in a low pressure, high-support setting.

My goal is to empower individuals to take control of their choices, experience the freedom that comes with owning your choices, and build a community of those who know they can overcome challenges. My motivation is watching the unique transformations that happen to the people who stay consistent and trust the process.

I place a high value on kindness, fairness, inclusivity and equality. Empowering men and women over 40 to try CrossFit regardless of current fitness level is a personal mission of mine. I combine professional coaching in a fun and supportive atmosphere. I will encourage you to work at your own pace and ability level. We do not compete in our classes, we empower and support.

CrossFit has forged a path towards mental and physical well-being for me.

It will do the same for you.
